About Villy: Born to parents from Sierra Leone and Jamaica who brought the family to America when he was in the fourth grade, he witnessed the drive in his immigrant parents to come to America seeking a better opportunity. This drive has fueled the fire that you hear in his music.

Beyond being a major player in this game, Villy wants to use his platform to make a change. “I’m not a rapper, I’m a motivational speaker. I bring that violence to your face so that you can see what’s going on. It’s real out here. There’s people out here starving” “Yeah, we party but there’s real things going on out there. “ He admits that some of his music can be classified as “gangsta” but wants to make it clear that he doesn’t glorify violence.

Some of his influences include life, the people around him, Tupac, Nelly, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, KRS ONE, Rakim, 90’s era music. Villy has a 90’s soul that you can hear in his music and that was the golden era of rap. His style is a blend of the best of the music from that day and today’s music. Says Villy, “The music right now is ok, but there’s more that they can cover. Songs should be more than partying and drinking. There should be a message to them. Real rap and real metaphors.”
