Washington Wizards guard John Wall has five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand and his playing status for the Eastern Conference semifinals has yet to be determined, the team announced Thursday.
Wall, who underwent multiple examinations Wednesday, and the team are currently consulting with physicians and specialists to determine the best course of action.
Game 3 of the best-of-seven series against the Atlanta Hawks is at 5 p.m. ET Saturday. The teams split the first two games.
"Honestly have no idea if John will play," Wall's backcourt mate Bradley Beal told ESPN's Britt McHenry. "Praying for the best but prepared for the worst. We still feel like we have the tools and gameplan to win."
Wall crashed hard to the floor on a drive to the basket with 3:05 left in the second quarter of the Wizards' 104-98 victory over Atlanta in Sunday's Game 1.
He missed Game 2 with what was called a sprained wrist after he suffered swelling significant enough that he would not be able to control the ball.
Wall, who had previously suffered a broken wrist in high school, has been averaging 17.4 points, 12.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds for the Wizards during the playoffs. - espn
